Edwin Wilwayco's recent oeuvres readily recall musical allusions stated either in sonorous range of blues in low major keys or in the glowing warmth of yellows and reds... composed, always with elan.
Done with the in-your-face bold brushworks that was the legacy of Abstract Expressionism, Wilwayco's oeuvres none-the-less evoke an aura of meditative deliberateness definitely outside the legacy, thus -- of the East: Filipino.
Wilwayco's current suite signals his emergence as an artist with a distinct guiding star.
